It looks like it’s going to be a detailed-report post (the ones I used to wrote just when I arrived, trying to memorize every moment and put some order in my head). It’s been a wonderful weekend, that’s probably why I want to put it down in each and every detail.
That was also an ‘eventful’ weekend as Nana described it. On Saturday we started quite early for us (at 10 a.m. :)) with shopping, then watched football and played pool, had a dinner in a nouvelle Nepalese (see Indian) restaurant, watched fireworks and ended up with watching a movie.

So I finally bought these small things (gloves, tights and a hat) that do not let you get frozen, which I really do here :-) (In the morning when I go to work and in the evenings when I go home or we go out, it’s really cold, the temperature vary from 10 to -1, but I do feel very cold – probably it’s because when you are in Russia and it’s snow around you are psychologically ready for this cold, but here, when you look outside and the sun is shining and it seems to be a nice day, you get out and even with this not very low temperature you get frozen)
Nana finally bought a Manchester United jersey, which he had been willing to buy for a veeery long time, and put on right away and in general was happy like a child :)
Then we watched this Man U vs Arsenal game, which even I liked :) (‘even I’ means that I’m not a football fan at all, and watching football seems boring to me, but this game was very intense and interesting). They ended in a draw, so Nana was unhappy for the rest of the evening, coz Man U were about to win and he wanted them to win very much, but ….
The Nepalese/Indian restaurant was veeeery nice. I think that I’m getting used to spicy food (here by spicy I would mean the mildest spicy food they have :)). One thing about all these Chinese and Indian places is that they have quite generous helpings, so I was not hungry even next morning.
And then we went to see fireworks. On 5th of November it is Guy Fawkes Night (more commonly known as Bonfire Night and sometimes Fireworks Night). It celebrates the foiling of the Gunpowder Plot of the 5th of November 1605 in which a number of Roman Catholic conspirators, including Guy Fawkes, attempted to blow up the Houses of Parliament. So the weekend before almost in every park there were fireworks. For the first time in my life I’ve seen such a long (about 20-25 min) and big firework so close to me. It was one if the best moment for the last half a year – to be standing next to a person you love, feeling his arms around you and looking at a cascade of star-like lights falling straight to you.
After that we went to see Elizabeth: Golden Age. Well… I didn’t really enjoyed it…. May be it’s because I had quite high expectations which were not met... A very good idea of showing a queen as a person, but that was as strong and touching as it could have been (to my mind for sure)
On Sunday I spent about 4 hours at the gym. In addition to the usual running and exercises I do, I finally went to the pool. I thought I would spend there not more than half an hour, but ended up with an hour and a half – with spending a bit of time in a sauna, a bit – in a steam room (which reminds Turkish hamam), a bit in Jacuzzi and etc.
And the second best things after the fireworks that happened at the weekend was Stardust – a lovely fantasy movie about love, which makes you hope and believe that what you have is also going to have a happy end... :)
